magic

Oh ho ho, it’s Magic, you know. Never believe it’s not so!

*ahem*

We hope you’ll forgive us that little blast from the past (and that you’ll also forgive us for getting that Pilot┬ásong stuck in your head as well as ours), but we’ve seldom come across a pet with such an apt name! Magic is Griffin Pond Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week for the July 17 edition.

We’ve got a soft spot for black & white cats, and, interestingly, so did Victorian society: black & white cats were considered especially lucky. And cats with this kind of coloring are sometimes referred to as Jellicle Cats in a nod to a poem by T.S. Eliot.

You can find Magic’s write-up on page 70 of the July 17th issue and also on findnflip.com. And you can find Magic herself (as well as other wonderful animals ready for adoption ) at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
