Marywood University to Host Second Lecture¬†on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter

 

SCRANTON, PA (February 24, 2016)-Marywood University’s campus ministry office, the science department, and the theology department will host the second lecture in the series on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si (Praised Be You): A Conversation on the Care of “Our Common Home.” During the second lecture, Care for the Poor, a panel will discuss issues including: The spread of hunger, the increase of economic disparity, the lack of access to medical care, and the lack of access to resources. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 6 p.m., in the Swartz Center Room B, in the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, on the University’s campus. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Pope Francis said in his Encyclical Letter, “We must regain the conviction that we need one another, that we have a shared responsibility for others and the world, and that being good and decent are worth it.”
