CONNECT: The College of Arts and Sciences Selects from The Maslow Collection is a celebration of the interconnectivity between all fields in higher learning and the recent reformation of the University’s College of Arts and Sciences. A faculty representative from each of the10 disciplines within the College of Arts and Sciences curates a work from The Maslow Collection into the exhibition, then writes about the artwork’s relationship to their area of study. Unexpected and fascinating dialogues are generated, showing how critical, creative, and collaborative we all are in this environment. The exhibit will be on display through November 2, 2018. The Maslow Gallery is located on the first floor of the Shields Center for Visual Arts.
The Marywood Print Guild will host an exhibit for its 2018 collection of 20 works in the Suraci Gallery, located on the second floor of the Shields Visual Arts Center for Visual Arts. There will be an artist walk-through beginning at 6 p.m. on September 20, 2018 during the opening reception. The Print Guild will be on display through Sunday, October 7, 2018.
Founded in 2003, The Marywood Print Guild was formed to enable Marywood art faculty and students the opportunity to create and exchange original and limited-edition prints, a tradition that has continued annually nearly every year since inception. Exhibited again will be a broad range of stylistic and technical processes reflecting Marywood University’s ongoing commitment to quality printmaking.
The complete guild collection, with the exception of this most recent work, can be viewed online at Marywood Print Guild Collection. For additional information about the gallery exhibits at Marywood University, please visit www.marywood.edu/galleries/visitors.html, or call (570) 348-6278.
